Hip hip hooray it's 100 days!

On Wednesday we celebrated being at school for 100 days!!

It was a very busy, although VERY, VERY FUN day:

- counting out our own 100 items we had brought to put on our 100 collection chart
- visiting all the junior classes to see what other students had brought in to count
- finding 100 on a maths sheet
- exercising in groups of 10 to 100 (10 hops, 10 star jumps, 10 claps etc)
- a yummy shared lunch that flowed into afternoon tea
- fun disco!

here are the photos of what each student brought in to count

Lucas brought 100 M&Ms (lucky he brought some extra, as I saw some pop into his mouth while counting :)

Sequential Patterns

Over the past few weeks we have been learning about sequential patterns.
A pattern repeats itself over and over again.
We found patterns with colours on our clothes and with movement.

Here are some of the patterns we created using our maths equipment

International Fairy Day!

On Tuesday 24th June the fairies, pirates and wizards visited our room to celebrate International Fairy Day. We made fairy bread, wands, pirate hats and played a game of 'Captain's coming!' At the end of the day we sat down and watched Peter Pan.
