Pyjama Day

Today was Pyjama Day.  The junior school had a parade of our pyjamas, with so many different kinds - animals, cupcakes, fairies, Barbie, space, transport and snuggly onesies.  Many of us wore funky slippers, and some children and teachers had their bedtime cuddlies.

After our parade we were rather hungry, so we soon sorted that out with some delicious toast, pancakes and hot milo.

Then to top the day off we ended with the movie 'Frozen' and some popcorn.

Playball

On Monday we had the opportunity to learn a variety of games involving running, and throwing and catching tennis balls.  Even the hula hoops became our cars!

Fun with Music

After a busy, loud morning running and cheering in the Cross Country, Room 1 & 2 had a quiet (well maybe not quiet) afternoon with music.  We played the drums while keeping to a beat. Hmmm bit tricky first time, but after some perseverance it became easier.  At home we can keep a beat using our body parts. Mrs Pram also taught us some movements to music.

Cross Country

On Thursday the whole school participated in Cross Country.  We used our stamina to help us run our race.  Ms Boyd is so proud of all of us!

Congratulations to Ella and Mikaere who both came 1st in the 5year old races!  Room 2 are proud of you!!

Shapes all around

We are learning about shapes. Who would have thought that so many shapes can be found at school!  But that's exactly what we discovered when we went for our shape walk around school on Tuesday morning.

Can you name all the shapes we found?

How many sides does each shape have?

Welcome back to Term 2!

I hope you all had a great holiday. We have already had a busy two weeks of learning at school.

This term we had two of our friends leave our class.  Salolo has returned back to Tavalu and Navami has gone to another school on the North Shore.  We will miss them both.

We are very lucky though to have Ella join our class.

Ella's favourite food is vegetables and sausages.  At home she likes to jump on her trampoline and watch her favourite Dora movies.  She often visits her Nana in Rotorua where they get to go to the hot pools.  Ella's older brother Luke is in Year 2.
